Gum Treatment

In our office, you'll find gum treatment to stop periodontal disease, reverse it, and deter recurrence.
If your gums bleed when you brush your teeth, or if you notice, redness, swelling, or tenderness, call for a hygiene appointment immediately. Our dental hygiene team will evaluate your gums and soft tissues to determine whether you have gingivitis, the early stage of gum disease, or periodontitis, the later stage.
We may recommend gum treatment such as scaling to remove hardened plaque from below the gum line; root planing to smooth rough areas on roots where plaque tends to build up; and/or Arestin antibiotic therapy to kill infection. With our Odyssey soft-tissue laser, we can remove damaged gum tissue, which promotes re-growth of new, healthy tissue. If you suffer with advanced periodontitis, we may refer you to a trusted periodontists for care.
