Tooth-Colored Fillings
in Henderson
A tooth-colored filling replaces the part of a tooth that decay has eaten away. Dr. Goh removes only the soft, decayed part, then bonds tooth-colored resin into the space so it locks onto the healthy tooth around it. Our fillings have no mercury in them.

- What
- A tooth-colored repair for a cavity or a small break. No mercury.
Clear the decay, then lock the repair in.
A filling is three short steps, and each one has a reason you can see.
Numb the tooth
Dr. Goh numbs the area first, so most people feel pressure and vibration, not sharp pain. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation are both there if you want more help to relax.
Local anestheticRemove the decay
Only the soft, decayed part comes out, and the healthy tooth stays, because enamel does not grow back once it is gone.
Keep healthy toothBond and shape
A mild acid roughens the tooth into tiny pits. The resin flows into them and a light hardens it, so it locks on, and Dr. Goh shapes it to your bite.
Tooth-colored composite
A cavity usually doesn't hurt at first.
Bacteria on your teeth turn sugar into an acid that pulls minerals out of the enamel until a soft spot forms. Enamel has no nerves, so you cannot feel a cavity starting.
Under the enamel is a softer layer called dentin, and decay moves faster once it gets there. That is why a small filling now keeps more of your tooth than a bigger one later.
The right repair depends on what is left.
A filling sits inside the tooth and leans on the walls around it, so it works well while those walls are thick and solid.
Once decay or an old filling has taken most of a wall, a bigger filling leaves the tooth weak, and it can crack. Dr. Goh shows you the tooth and tells you which repair fits.

Most of a wall is gone, or the tooth has cracked.
A sealant is not a filling. It is a thin coating flowed into the grooves of a back tooth to keep food and bacteria out. It does not treat decay that is already there.
