Twenty quiet minutes. No needles.

Emvital® is a Class-4 therapeutic laser: two wavelengths of light, 1064 and 635 nm, delivered into the tissue in a process called photobiomodulation. It's not a joint treatment on its own; at Smiles by Goh, we use it for temporary relief of muscle soreness, tension, and stiffness around the jaw, and to support local circulation. It is one gentle tool inside the plan, not the whole plan.

Because it's drug-free, Emvital® fits alongside the rest of your care rather than complicating it. We track how your jaw responds session to session and adjust.

Most jaw pain is muscle-driven: clenching and grinding, stress-holding, and bite patterns that overload the joint, often tied to how you sleep and breathe. Less often it's the joint structure itself. That's why we start by finding the driver rather than treating the ache in isolation.
Emvital® delivers gentle laser light into the jaw-muscle tissue for temporary relief of soreness and tension, with no needles, no medication, nothing to numb. It doesn't hurt; most patients feel only a mild warmth and go straight back to their day. It's the centerpiece of our non-surgical approach.
No surgery. We stay with conservative, reversible care first. A custom night guard helps some patients protect the joint from clenching, but it's one option among several, not an automatic prescription. Dr. Goh only recommends it if it fits your situation.
It depends on how long the pain has been building and what's driving it, so we set expectations up front rather than promising a number. Some patients notice easing early; muscle-driven tension usually responds over a short series of sessions. Individual results vary, and we track your response as we go.
Very often, yes. Nighttime clenching, disrupted sleep and airway, and stress-holding all load the jaw. Because we look at the whole picture, not just the joint, we can address what's feeding the pain, which is what makes relief last.

Each session runs about ten to twenty minutes, contactless or handheld and calibrated to your skin type. You lie back while the laser arm passes over the sore areas of your jaw and face. There's nothing to numb and nothing to recover from, and most people feel a gentle warmth and drive home straight after.
